Are you passionate about politics, curious about how Parliament works, and committed to making a difference for the people of Newcastle?

Chi Onwurah, Labour MP for Newcastle Central and West, is looking for a motivated Parliamentary Intern to join her Westminster team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the heart of Parliament while supporting Chi’s work championing Newcastle and the North East.

You’ll help ensure local voices are heard in Parliament, support work on the issues that matter most to constituents, and contribute to Chi’s role scrutinising science, innovation and technology. No previous political experience is required – we’re looking for enthusiasm, sound judgement, strong communication skills and a genuine willingness to learn.

Additional information

Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
