Thank you Newcastle Central and West
Thank you to the people of Newcastle Central and West for electing me as your MP in July. You chose change over chaos and hope over hate. Whether you voted for me or not, I promise to be a unifying MP that stands up for everyone in Newcastle Central and West.
A Labour victory brings hope to the nation
Thanks to the hard work of Labour members and supporters across Newcastle Central and West and up and down the country, the UK elected not only the first Labour member for this new constituency, but a Labour Government with a massive majority of over 200. It is a real pleasure and privilege to represent the people of Newcastle under any circumstances, but to walk into the Commons Chamber and sit on the Government benches surrounded by hundreds of fellow Labour MPs, is truly change for the better.
And the first three weeks of the Labour Government have already made a huge difference. Labour has scrapped the Rwanda gimmick, lifted the ban on onshore wind, restored housebuilding targets, created the National Wealth Fund to drive good jobs across the country, signed water bosses to cleaning up our waterways, reaffirmed our commitment to Ukraine, called again for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza but this time in a direct phone call between Keir and Netanyahu as well as delivering a Kings Speech with 31 bills including leasehold reform, transport, housebuilding and devolution.
It is no coincidence that far right thugs chose to spread their message of hate following Labour’s election victory. Thank you, Newcastle, for showing the world that we will not be divided and that we stand united as one city. In the face of bigotry and hatred, the people of Newcastle made clear that we will never allow evil to triumph over good.
Organisation
We are recruiting for a Trainee Admin Assistant based in the Newcastle Office.
Media
I was quoted regularly in national and local media. I appeared on BBC Look North discussing the abuse faced by candidates and campaigners during the general election and on Tyne Tees about the changes to the NUFC board.
Top tweet
Thank you from the Labour team to everyone in Newcastle Central and West for putting your confidence in Labour and electing me as your Member of Parliament. We will not let you down!

You say Labour bring hope !! Not for the pensioners though as you only bring fear. Fear of freezing this year as they have no fuel allowance to warm their homes. I really can’t believe I voted Labour.
