Chi has written to Oliver Dowden, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, following requests from constituents and the NUFC supporters club, to ask him to support a transparent arbitration process for the proposed NUFC sale. Full copy here: DowdenLetterNUFCtakeover
Dear Ms Onwaruh – Thank you for all the pressure you are putting on the relevant bodies to resolve this situation with the takeover of NUFC. Todays decision to allow the PL a further seven days in the CAT case is a further delay that is totally unwarranted and another disgraceful tactic by the PL – their position of using delaying tactics throughout this process is disgusting, when buyer and seller have agreed on the future ownership of the Club. It has put the Club (and its’ fans) in a state of being able to move forward. At no point has the PL answered any of the questions put to it. Tracey Crouch has now said she is not interested in the points made by Amanda Staveley – and yet this is one area of governance she should examine!
As a long standing (over 60 years) supporter of the Toon and seen so many ups and (in particular) downs, I would love this takeover to happen and bring back to the Club the type of football and possible success it deserves.
THANK YOU!
It’s now or never. Newcastle matters.
