Newcastle Central bus passengers have complained to me about atrocious levels of services eg elderly & frail forced to wait for hours at bus stops without info.
I met StagecoachNE following many complaints of atrocious Newcastle Bus Services eg elderly would-be passengers forced to wait hours at bus stops with no info.
I asked the Transport Secretary to meet me to sort it out – she agreed & I will be looking for your views to pass on.
I will discuss Stagecoach’s response with Transport Secretary of State but first want to know what constituents think: 🧵
Q1: Stagecoach said that the StagecoachNE app *always* had up to date info on any cancelled/delayed services. Does the Stagecoach app *always* have the info you need? Yes / No
Q2: Stagecoach said that compensation for delayed/withdrawn services was available in the form of free “Day Rider” passes. Have you received compensation for delayed/withdrawn services from Stagecoach NE? Yes / No
Q3: If you use more than one bus operator, is Stagecoach NE better/worse than the others? Better / Worse

Over the summer my constituents experienced atrocious service from local bus companies, with elderly and frail constituents forced to wait for hours at bus stops without knowing whether a bus was coming or not. Will the Minister with responsibility for buses, and my neighbour the Secretary of State, meet me so we can sort out at least an acceptable bus service for my constituents?
