I believe that the BBC’s interpretation and findings on the complaint againt Naga Muchetty’s comments are wrong. On reading the article and the interpretaion it seems clear to me that she did not breach any impartiality codes. I would urge the BBC to reread their guidelines again and clear her from any wrongdoing and provide her with the support she deserves.
I am utterly perplexed. A racist trope is offence to a black woman. She can say so; but not criticise the author? She elegantly held back in my eyes. The egregious action against Naga when weighed against her common sense is astonishing. I’m a massive BBC fan and I rely on the BBC for impartial news. If Naga did anything wrong I’m a pineapple!!!
